Sao Paulo, Brasil

We arrived in Sao Paulo, Friday morning. Going through customs was fairly quick and easy. We then picked up our luggage, or,better said, Janet's luggage - Ben's was not there. We did all there the paper work and then went out of customs to meet our pick up, we hoped. He was there. He said we were easy to spot - we were old, we were a couple, we looked lost and we had name tags.

The international airport for the city of Sao Paulo is outside the city, like Denver's. It took us 21/2 hours to get to the Church office building. They don't have a freeway system here, it was all surface roads. When we arrived, we met most of the couple missionaries who work at the church office's. There are about 15 couples. They were very nice to us. There wasn't much to do that afternoon, so we went to our apartment at the alojamento and took a nap. That night, there was a 24th of July celebration with many of the couple missionaries. They were kind enough to invite us.

The next day, we rested some more. We were both surprised at how tired we were, but with the time change and plane ride, we were worn out. My bag finally arrived at 9:30 at night, or at 21:30. On Sunday we went to church. The members were very kind. I could understand some of what was said, but I have forgotten a lot. Janet didn't understand anything. Afterwards, we rested some more. Even though we have done much, we are excited to be here and to help in the Lord's work.
